CHENNAI: Five rowdies, who were absconding after allegedly hacking to death two men belonging to a rival gang at Mylapore on Thursday midnight, surrendered before the Chengelpet court here on Sunday.
K Tamizhselvan, K Seenu, Yuvaraj, Easwaran and Sivakumar were allegedly part of a 10-15 member gang that attacked and killed Billa alias Suresh and Viji alias Vijayakumar at their residence near Ambedkar Bridge in Mylapore.
Special teams had been formed to look for the absconding men, who were suspected to be hiding in Kancheepuram.
On Sunday, the accused persons surrendered before the Chenglepet magistrate at her residence, a senior police officer said.

Teacher robbed: A 55-year-old teacher of Virugambakkam was robbed at Royapettah on Saturday.
Sources said Geetha, a government school teacher and resident of Royal Nagar, was conducting census, when she was accosted by a stranger before a multi-story apartment in Royapettah.
He offered to take her inside the apartments, but instead took the woman to the terrace.
Once on the terrace, the stranger threatened her and asked her to remove her ear studs and nose ring and escaped.
