How about having food with your loved ones on wheels? Sounds interesting? Moistclay Entertainment along with its franchisee partner in Chennai, The Moving Cart, has come up with a new concept — Hijackk, a double decker mobile bus restaurant. After ‘hijacking’ Ahmedabad and Surat, the team is all set to hijack the Chennaiites. “I got inspired by the film 3 Idiots and came up with this Hijackk concept. The double decker mobile bus restaurant is going well in both the cities,” says Anirvan Dam, director of Moistclay group of companies whose brainchild is Hijackk. Why is it named Hijackk? “Once on wheels, the customers can’t get down from the bus. Our concept is to provide them food with live music on the move,” says Anirvan and adds, “When my long-time friend Hardik Shah said he would like to introduce the new concept in Chennai, I immediately said okay.” Hardik Shah and his wife Ami Shah will manage Hijackk in Chennai. Talking about this new initiative, Ami Shah, an entrepreneur who introduced the new concept of toy libraries in Chennai, says, “When I experienced Hijackk in Ahmedabad, I was so inspired, and thought why couldn’t we introduce it in Chennai and I was sure that it would go well with  Chennaiites too.”  Hardik Shah, CEO of The Moving Cart says, “Hijackk will be introduced soon to Chennaiites. We’re waiting for the permission from the government to operate it and it would take to roads soon. This double decker mobile bus restaurant is a 44-seater (22 each in lower deck and upper deck). Tickets have to be reserved earlier. There will be two trips daily, 7.15 pm and 9 pm from Blue Lagoon resort. The mobile bus restaurant will take a ride starting from Blue Lagoon to MGM resort and would return to the Blue Lagoon restaurant. The ride would be for nearly one-and-a-half hours.”  Ami Shah says, “The bus would take customers on a route of 20 to 25 kms and move at a speed of 40 kms. Special packages would be available and exclusive trips and corporate bookings  are also applicable on booking.” Talking about expansion plans, Anirvan says, “We’re planning to introduce Hijackk in 15 cities by the end of this year. Our next target is Rajkot in Gujarat. Hijackk’s concept would be introduced there soon.” The customers would be served a nine-course meal starting from mocktails and soups. “The menu will vary every 15 days. We provide only vegetarian food. The lower deck is fully air conditioned and one can enjoy live music and fine dining in open air on  the upper deck while on the move. As the food can’t be prepared on the bus, we would take the prepared dishes from Blue Lagoon to the mobile bus restaurant,” informs Ami Shah. All these facilities are available just for Rs 565. “It would be a different experience to have food on the move,” adds the entrepreneur.
