CHENNAI: A collaborative effort of IIT Bombay and InOpen Technologies, the unique software Computer Masti (CM) that has innovated a fun way to learn computers for learning kids, is organising a special workshop at the IIT Madras, Chemical Department on November 5. The workshop aims to introduce Computer Masti to principals and teachers and to further demonstrate the functionalities of the product.

CM is designed as a content — service solution to teach computer science in schools. CM curriculum is developed after understanding the primary and secondary schools curriculum in the Indian sub-continent as well as schools abroad. Apart from teaching computer literacy skills, the content also teaches others concepts like stepwise thinking and logical reasoning.

The idea behind the concept of CM is that learning is always considered to be exclusive of fun. But a game which reinforces the learning in a child along with the element of fun is seen in Computer Masti. It not only encompasses many games which are not only about education but also makes learning fun and Interesting. Computer Masti addresses the ergonomics issue in this advent of technology by emphasising on following healthy computer practices, correct postures and exercises.

The forum is for principals and teachers who are the decision makers, influencers and generate a huge impact on students’ future and shape them for the bigger challenges that lie ahead. This forum will talk about the new game-based and interactive way of teaching computer science at schools.

Rupesh Kumar Shah, chief executive officer and founder of InOpen Technologies said, "The programme, based on a thorough research done at IIT Bombay under the guidance of a professor, gives a strong quality assurance. It is an up-to-date national curriculum for computer science which is revised from time to time. It develops life skills and strong analytical abilities in a child. The structure of the programme is such that it adds the "fun" while learning element. The content is in a story format.

Computer Masti aims to provide universally acceptable IT literacy solutions. The primary objective of Computer Masti is to nurture independent thinking skills of a child through enjoyable and innovative ways.
