CHENNAI: AR Rahman does it differently always! And this time, he has brought the world’s famous trumpet player, Adam Rapa from the US to KM Music Conservatory as part of the new Brass Programme under preparatory programme.

As one of the greatest trumpet players and educators in the world, Adam Rapa has developed a system of conducting private lessons for students around the world through video conferencing. He has also published a book on brass technique in Japan, and is currently developing a revolutionary new educational software, which will soon be available in seven languages.

Rapa is now on an exploration trip and has already begun his  classes at KM Conservatory.

From trumpet and french horn to trombone, Adam will be helping the students create a symphony orchestra. The musician will be conducting three classes every week, which include two practical sessions and a Western music theory. Jyoti Nair of KM Conservatory said, “In order to make everyone part of this symphony, the wizard of trumpet will also take sessions for underprivileged students under the outreach programme.” The preparatory programme, which has been scheduled in such a way that it suits everyone’s timings, is a one-year course designed for music enthusiasts of over the age of five years. It provides compulsory theory and practical music lessons that consist of weekly private and group lessons designed to develop a student’s musical skills at their own pace. So be a part of this Brass Programme and enjoy it while you can!
