Understanding of God
I remember my parents going from temples to churches to mosques beckoning the almighty to make their visually challenged son see the world. But some family friend seemed to have had a self-assigned godly task of suggesting a renowned ophthalmologist Dr Agarwal, who in turn advised them to admit their son in a special school for the visually challenged. A true divine guidance indeed! I grew along amidst Christian prayer songs and Bible readings until my high school days in two Catholic institutions namely the Little Flower Convent and St Louis institute. When I moved on for my higher secondary studies to Shree Venkateswara school, I had to listen daily to prayer songs on Lord Krishna. I still cherish the gentle godly pat by the principal of SVMHSS for my instant reply to his inquisitiveness on how I would climb stairs for my daily classes. “that my two legs had had the tenacity to climb even Mount Everest.”
God, in my view, is probably one of the best inventions of man attempting to unravel the inexplicable mysteries of creation, operation and destruction of this and other universes. As a matter of fact, God need not exist if we learn to be guided by the inner light, which is the sense of good and evil. We must learn to live with the quest. The most exciting fact of 'life' is that we pass on this eternal probe to the next generation. "I don't know" is perhaps the most honest statement among us. In fact, we need not know at all.
Spiritual beliefs
On the other hand, I believe in the infinite power of the human mind, which can be explored and enhanced through meditation and breathing exercises. Meditation is to attain a moment of thoughtlessness. I begin my meditation by chanting within, “I'm not alone. The entire human race is with me.” It’s more of my being in communion with myself. I interact from within to cleanse.
Pilgrimage sites
I do want to visit the birth and wisdom place of Buddha as he was arguably the earliest one to have spoken about reasoning in India. I love to visit as many new places as possible since I love to make new friends from different cultures and customs. I'm born afresh every moment and so my own place of dwelling feels and smells new always.
