The Tamil Nadu Anglo-Indian Schools Parents Students Welfare Association condemned the actions of the management of St George’s Anglo-Indian HSS, alleging that the fees being collected was higher than that prescribed by the Government.
Garden Raja, Founder Secretary of the association, said the fee was `5,000 more than the amount fixed by the government. He said, “The headmaster threatened the parents, saying that children would not be admitted if they did not pay the fee. We protested on Monday, but they called the police and held me and 10 others in remand for a day before letting us go.”
Raja also said that the grounds of the school were being rented out to hold events which pose a distraction for the students. The association demanded that this practice be stopped, and the correct fee structure be posted on the notice board. They also called for the removal of the current headmaster.
