S Kalyanaraman. Besides, the Maestro in Nama Sankeertanam, Janaki Subramaniam received Sankari Narayanan Award and U Ve Sri Devarajan Swamigal, an erudite scholar, was presented the Janaki Vaidyanathan Award.
The title and awards were presented by Justice V Chidambaresh, Judge, Kerala High Court. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Justice Chidambaresh recalled the contributions of Narayana Iyer, a doyen of Madurai Bar. Earlier, A M Swaminathan, chairman, Ethiraj College for Women, underlined the need for social organisations to recognise the contributions of those in the field of art of culture.
Pointing out that the kings and chieftains of provinces were supporting the persons involved in arts during the ancient days, he said, “PResently, Upanyasam (spiritual discourse) is being followed by more people. Against this backdrop, social organisations must come forward to felicitate them.”
In his address, Nagai Mukundan, a noted personality in the field of religious discourses, eulogised the contributions of Arulmamani Sri Ramani Guruji. “Indeed, I am delighted for getting an opportunity for speaking at an event, where Arulmamani Sri Ramani Guruji is conferred with the Pravachana Vachapathi title,” he added. Narayana Vishwanath, chairman, Sri V Narayana Iyer Memorial Trust, also was felicitated on the occasion.
