CHENNAI:  As part of British Council’s ISA Project, the students of Class 6 of Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Virugambakkam recently organised an exhibition of miniatures of the heritage monuments of the world such as the Great Pyramid of Giza, Stonehenge, Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty and the Great Wall of China.

Attired in the respective country’s traditional garb, the children explained the history and the special features of each monument to the visitors. Monumental philately showcased the children’s creation of stamps of the monuments. Several albums prepared by the children and a continuous video show in the exhibition provided in-depth knowledge of these marvels in stone and metal.

“Students could procure a lot of information about the history, culture, traditions, and beliefs of various countries across the globe, during the course of organising this exhibition,” said Vasundhara and Aparna, the teachers in-charge.

Christened as the ‘Silent Saga’, the exhibition which was held recently, was truly a monumental success with unstinted support from the teachers and parents alike.
