Inter-PSBB debate conducted

PSBB School, K K Nagar, emerged the winner in the grand finale of the inter-PSBB debate competition held at Vani Mahal recently. It was a culmination of the year long debating that took place among 140 members of the debating society at the Nungambakkam and K K Nagar PSBB schools.

PSBB School, K K Nagar, emerged the winner in the grand finale of the inter-PSBB debate competition held at Vani Mahal recently. It was a culmination of the year long debating that took place among 140 members of the debating society at the Nungambakkam and K K Nagar PSBB schools.

The topic was ‘Is India’s diversity our strength or weakness’ which was vociferously argued and counter argued by both schools. K K Nagar students argued that diversity is country’s strength, students from Nungambakkam school countered their view.

The best individual speaker award was bagged by Arushi Nayar, A Class 10 student from PSBB, K K Nagar. P V Divya of PSBB, Nungambakkam won the second best speaker award and the third position was shared by Suvendu Samal and V Akshay of K K Nagar school.

The judges for the event were Raja Krishnamoorthy, Management Consultant and film personality, Sanjay Pinto, Lawyer and TV personality, L Ramkumar, Managing Director, TI Cycles. The Dean and Director of Schools, Mrs YGP complemented the students and teachers on the excellent quality of content and language that the students spoke.

Debating society was launched in PSBB schools in 2008-09 as a Golden Jubilee initiative.

This is their fifth year in line and it has grown in strength catching up much as a movement among PSBB students.
