Over 50 parents along with their admission-seeking wards made their way to the office of the Directorate of Medical Education (DME) on Thursday, claiming that their children’s MBBS cut-offs were wrong. After they were directed to the Directorate of Government Exams for clarification, they were shocked to find that the cut-offs were wrong because their exam papers had been re-evaluated.
Bhuvana, one of the parents said they had only applied for the photocopies of exam papers and not for re-evaluation, but the latter had been done and these ‘reduced’ marks had been sent to the DME to prepare the MBBS rank lists. “All of this has happened because the process went online this year. We had applied for the e-challans for photocopies and re-evaluation, but had only paid the money for former. When we asked the DGE, they asked us to write a complaint and said that they would look into the matter,” she said.
