Anabond Limited, a leading manufacturer of industrial adhesives and sealants, entered into a joint venture with the UK-based HS Butyl International on Monday. The new company, based in Thirumudivakkam, would be called Anabond HS Butyl Private Limited and would manufacture butyl tapes that find wide application in the automotive, prefab construction, aviation and energy segments.
The agreement was inked in the presence of the British Deputy High Commissioner in Chennai Mike Nithavrianakis. Speaking at the event, he said, “In India, the young population is in large numbers compared to other countries. Particularly, Tamil Nadu has a very strong engineering tradition. India is the fourth largest investor in the UK and most of 1,200 Indian companies across Europe are in the UK. These strengths bring mutual benefits to a large extent.”
Adrian Hartley, MD, HS Butyle Limited, said his firm had been manufacturing butyl tapes and involved in developing formulations for various applications for five decades in the UK.
About the joint venture, J Vijayakumar, MD, Anabond Limited, said, “Integrity is the main key in development.”
