Plaint against Dhoni for morphed picture

A Hindu outfit on Tuesday submitted a petition with City Police Commissioner S George seeking action against Indian skipper M S Dhoni on charges of denigrating religious sentiments.

The petition comes after a business fortnightly published a photograph showing an image of the Indian skipper morphed like Lord Vishnu, holding a packet of potato wafers, a cola bottle, a bottle of engine oil and a sports sneaker as its cover for an issue published in April.

Hindu Makkal Katchi also threatened to conduct a stir in front of the office of the publication in Teynampet if Dhoni failed to tender an unconditional apology. “We will continue our protest until Dhoni apologises,”  state headquarters secretary SR Kumaravel said.

“We have filed a complaint against seeking sufficient action against the Indian skipper. We hope the police would do their role,” he added.
