As the name implies, Chocoholick, a restaurant which was opened at the Ispahani Centre on Monday, claims to make those with a sweet tooth go gaga over chocolate. The new space was inaugurated by actor Vijay Sethupathi.
When you look at the walls of the restaurant and the serving tables and chairs painted in chocolate colour, the colour itself will radiate the flavour that they vow to provide. The inaugural menu consisted of 30 mouth watering concoctions to tantalise the senses, according to the owners. It includes Choctails, Choco shots, Popsicle fondue, Melting Heart Cake and shake, Strawberry hazel nut crepe sharing space with classic European fondue, chocolate chunks pizza and a banana split waffle. Apart from the chocolate treats, there are variegated savory dishes to cater to customers’ needs. In addition, it offers caramelised pecan nuts, chocolate thins, colourful bonbons, huge chocolate bricks and others.
Sai Babu, managing director, Chocoholick, who is a chocolate lover himself, came up with the idea of starting a chocolate pub, where youth can sit back and get lost in the world of chocolate.
He says, “While many outlets in the city sell chocolates and some even have cafes, we wanted to create an entirely new and sophisticated ambience where true chocolate lovers can converge and share their love for chocolate. They can even exchange their ideas and try making their own concoctions, thereby create something special.”
