New Facility Inaugurated at City Hospital

CHENNAI:Oxymed hospitals on Sunday inaugurated its new research facility with hyperbaric oxygen treatment for patients.

Dr Ayaz Akbar,  preventive cardiologist and chairman, Oxymed Hospitals, said that the main aim is to ensure that cardiological and other lifestyle diseases  are not carried through non-surgical intervention.

Rafeeque Ahmed, chairman, Farida Group inaugurated the HBOT treatment and research facilty.

Dr Ayaz said that they will be adding a 100 bed hospital in the coming year to provide non-invasive treatment.

Also present at the launch were VK Subbaraj, chief secretary to goverment of India,  pharmaceuticals department and Hisammudin Papa,  chairman, HUMA speciality Hospitals. The new facility at the Oxymed Hospitals at Nandanam will add to the existing infrastructure of the hospital in non-surgical  intervention.

The HBOT Chamber can be used to treat all kinds of wounds,  injuries,  diabetic wounds,  cardiological conditions,  through providing pure oxygen at higher than room pressure which improves blood oxygen levels and promotes new cell growth.

The hyperbaric  chamber facility can be used for treating ten patitents at the same time.
