CHENNAI: At the end of his 132nd consecutive date, celebrity photographer Sunder Ramu is not tired and his dates – ladies of all ages – keep coming, supporting his campaign of 365 dates whose expenses would go into an NGO. In these dates, the ladies would have to pay for the meal or any expenses involved and an equal amount would be contributed by the photographer himself and that would be used for a social cause.

“There is no age bar, except that I was willing to date girls over 2. Otherwise it would seem like I am babysitting them. There is no set upper limit, though. In fact, there was a 105-year old woman and many ninety-year-old ladies whom I have dated and those were really nice experiences. It is good to see that they don’t mind paying for a meal whose proceeds go to a social cause,” he said, adding that at the end, there would be a story of his experience at the end of the year filled with his dates from Chennai, other states in India and perhaps even abroad. “Starting from August, I will travel abroad and have my dates in different countries as well; it is all planned,” added Sunder.

This date, however, was special. It was a food trail hosted and sponsored by the Phoenix Market City where Sunder Ramu and his date for the day Jyoti Agarwal, president of the Inner Wheel Club had their date that was spread over five and hours, going restaurant hopping. “We started the afternoon with a soup and welcome drinks at Spaghetti Kitchen, following a round of starters at Hard Rock Café. The main course was at the Tex-Mex restaurant, Habanero and we ended the evening on sweet note, they enjoyed some delicious dessert at the Starbucks,” said Jyoti, who added that this was one of the different dates she’s had.
