When we hear the word modelling or ramp, the images of women in high heels flashes through our minds. But on Monday, the ramp was set on fire by children starting from the age of five, at the fashion show presented by the participants of Dreeam Cast Modelling Workshop 2015 at GRT Grand.

Dreeam Cast is a brain child of model-turned-photographer Karthik Srinivasan, who is supported in his endeavour by his wife Hema Srinivasan.

The couple wrapped up their 15th  modelling workshop  for those  between the age of five and 25, successfully with the fashion show. The 10-day workshop was held a month ago. The participants were taught all aspects of modelling — from how to walk the ramp to facing the camera and make-up skills.

“I just completed class 12 and I chose modelling as my career and fortunately, Dreeam Cast turned out to be my platform,” said Viveka S, a participant. When asked her if her parents approved her decision, she said, “They have been super supportive!” Not just hers, a bevy of beaming parents occupied the seats around the ramp. While some took rapid pictures of their modelling aspirants, some fussed over their child’s dress and hair.

One such mother was straightening her nine-year-old son Vaibhav’s brown leather jacket. “He is performing in a special session, today. He was a part of Dreeams Cast two years ago and since then, he has starred in around 15 advertisements so far,” she said with pride.

Sponsored by Peachpod and Designer Stitch, the show began like any other fashion show, with crazy electronic Dance Music beats and dazzling lights as the young models walked the ramp with international street hip-hop style, while the audience applauded.

The second round featured the older ones with a quirky style and two more rounds. A special sequence of the top models of previous batches was presented.

Awards were given away by well-known celebrities including actor and model, Ganesh Venkatraman, Aishwariya Rajesh and Ragasiya. The event ended with a distribution of certificates and gift cards to the kids by Peachpod.
