CHENNAI: Have you ever been fascinated by the Addams Family cartoon as a kid and wanted to visit the set on a Halloween night? That is exactly what happened at the Phoenix Market City, Chennai on Saturday. The mall hosted a truly ‘Spooktacular’ Halloween party for expats to bring in the fun spirit of Halloween.
“We have put together a set of exciting activities ensuring a unique, ‘at home’ experience specially crafted for the expats, besides our premium shoppers. We are glad kids and parents had an exciting time at the Halloween Party,” said Noel Vessaoker, center director, Phoenix Market City, Chennai. The children were accompanied by their parents and were dressed up in their scary best. The children, between the ages of three and 12 years old, were dressed up as vampires, Halloween pumpkins, ghosts, pirates and Disney princesses amongst other popular characters.
The venue was throbbing with children enjoying the spooky set up, the eerie music, dark lights and carefully-prepared décor of scary skeletons and silhouettes of dilapidated castles. The children indulged themselves in the activities handpicked for them. Tattoo painting, face painting, hitting the witches and trunk race were some of the activities. The excited children got to make their own lanterns, eye masks, Halloween special pencils and were also given props like tails, witch hats, bow ties to get an eerie feel. The parents along with the children seemed to be lost in the activities.
“This is the first time I am at a Halloween party. I am having more fun than my children. It is really exciting and a thoughtful initiative to expose children to a festival that is gathering momentum in the city,” said a parent.
