CHENNAI: A day after the Madras High Court quashed all criminal proceedings against author Perumal Murugan, the writer has hinted at his resurrection. Mired in controversy last year after protests by caste and communal outfits over the English translation of his 2010 Tamil fiction novel Madhorubagan- One Part Woman, Perumal Murugan announced that he won't write henceforth.
"Author Perumal Murugan is dead. He is no God. Hence, he will not resurrect. Hereafter, only P Murugan, a teacher, will live,” he famously announced last year.
On Wednesday, the 49 year old author, in a brief statement expressed his joy over the verdict and announced his resurrection.
