Ramp walk your way to Miss South India 2017

Miss South India 2017, hosted by Naturals is coming up.

CHENNAI: Miss South India 2017, hosted by Naturals is coming up. For all the aspirants out there who want to participate and win, here are a few suggestions we received from Miss South India 2016. If you win, you will automatically be called for Miss India Pageant.

Meera Mithun,
Miss South India, 2015

While most pageant winners take up a social cause to help society, Meera Mithun focused on grooming aspiring models and spreading awareness about such pageants. Why is this awareness required? “When I was called for auditions last year, I was shocked to find only six contestants. When I asked the organisers they told me that not many models want to enter pageants. I need to change that thought,” says Meera who has been modeling for over three years.

She believes that Chennai models have potential and are more brilliant than women in other cities. “The sad part is that organisers usually look for tall models (5 feet 8 inches), which is a huge drawback. But our girls here are brilliant and I really want to crown a Chennaiite the next Miss South India,” hopes Meera.
Unlike the previous editions, the winners of this edition will be registered and recognised with gateways to Miss India, Miss Asia and other prestigious pageants. So, the most important questions every aspirant wants answered – What happens during an audition? “Smile, but don’t fake it. Be yourself!,” says Meera who smiled from the start to the end, without a shift in her posture (it got her good points). “You will be asked to walk in different angles, they will check your physique, how photogenic you are, your profile and many questions like why this pageant is important to you and why you want to be a model?”
It’s all about the confidence and how you carry yourself.

“Of course, make sure you are fit and toned. But I believe yoga is a better option. It makes you flexible and gives you the peace of mind that is needed,” she advices. Organised by Pegasus and with title sponsor Manappuram Finance Limited, the Chennai auditions will be held during the first week of November and the finals in January 2017.
