CHENNAI: Vasanth is a director and screenwriter in Kollywood. He debuted as a director with the movie Keladi Kanmani and later went on to director movies such as Appu,Rhythm, Satham Podathey, Moondru Per Moondru Kadal, etc. He has also appeared in movies like Vai Raja Vai and Ninaithathu Yaaro.

God is just a clone of your mother.

Your most godly encounter?
While in school, even though I would always cross the Sai Baba temple in Mylapore, I never went inside. I have been so lucky that my first ever visit to a Sai Baba temple was directly to the Shirdi.
Funniest encounter in a place of worship?
People asking for a selfie at the temple, in front of the god.
A quirky habit that you have in terms of being spiritual or a god believer?
I am very close to the gods; I love them, hug and even want to kiss them.
What do you think will offend god?
God can understand everything, so I don’t think anything will offend him.
If there was one thing you’d want god to change, what would it be? Why?
I would ask god to change people who cheat in his name.
A superpower you would wish for? What would you do with it?
I want to be god’s secretary and speak for people who are really in pain and suffering and get them the best benefits from god.
If you’re going to hell, who are the three people you’d want to see there? Why?
I would like to see my mentor K Balachander and my favourite writers Jayakanthan and Sujatha there. This is because, with these three people, I can always discuss and gather enough wisdom to reach paradise.
Our Indian gods or Greek gods...Who would you pick? And which god would you want to be friends with? Why?
I would pick our Indian gods and would like to be friends with Sai Ram, because I love him.
