Fee structure for PG courses in Tamil Nadu self-financing medical colleges fixed

The Justice N V Balasubramanian Fee Fixation Committee has announced the fee structure for self-financing medical and dental colleges for Post Graduation courses for the academic year 2017-2018.

CHENNAI: The Justice N V Balasubramanian Fee Fixation Committee has announced the fee structure for self-financing medical and dental colleges for Post Graduation courses for the academic year 2017-2018.
Also, for the first time, fee structure of the deemed universities and self financing colleges has been uploaded in the government website www.tnhealth.org.

Members of the five-member committee includes state health secretary J Radhakrishnan, Dr C V Bhirmanandham, vice-president of Medical Council of India, and the Director of Medical Education. The panel has fixed the fees for government and management quota seats in self-financing colleges.

Fee for government quota seat in minority colleges is Rs 3 lakh for PG degree (clinical), and Rs 2.25 lakh for PG degree (non-clinical) and MDS (para clinical), Rs 2.50 lakh for PG diploma courses and MDS (clinical).

For management quota, it is Rs 11.50 lakh for PG degree (clinical), Rs 3.25 lakh for PG degree (non-clinical) and MDS (para clinical), Rs 3.50 lakh for PG diploma courses, Rs 8.50 lakh for MDS (clinical).

In non- minority colleges, for government quota seat it is Rs 3 lakh for PG degree (clinical), Rs 2.50 lakh for PG degree (non clinical), PG diploma courses, MDS (clinical and para clinical). For management quota in non- minority colleges, it is Rs 13 lakh for PG degree, Rs 3.50 lakh for PG degree (non clinical), PG diploma courses and MDS (para clinical), and Rs 9.50 lakh for MDS (clinical)

In addition, the committee also permitted the institutions to collect an amount of Rs 50,000 per student as development fee.
