CHENNAI : Young Manga lovers and bladers in the city gathered at Forum Vijaya Mall for an evening of high octane fun. Funskool India curated a Beyblade Burst tournament to find talented bladers between 8 years and 13 years, in the city. “I just believed in myself. I have been playing with Beyblades for years now...with my friends and my brother. All the informal training helped,” said 13-year-old Pranavesh Sai Kumar, Funskool Beyblade champion finalist from Chennai.

He will take part in the national finals, against champions from other cities, in New Delhi, next month. “The fascination for Beyblade spinning tops began when I was in class 1. I was a fan of the television series. Every day for the last seven years, I have played the Beyblade...it was worth it,” shared the class 8 student of PSBB in KK Nagar.

The winner of the national finals will represent India at the 2018 Beyblade Burst World Championship to be held at the Kidexpo, Paris, in November 2018.Pranavesh currently owns 14 Beyblades. “I am confident that I will represent the country in the world finals. I want to be there. But, I also believe that participation is more important than winning...so, no matter what, I will give my best,” he added.
