US Ambassador to be part of delegation at DefExpo

The collective presence of major American manufacturers supply-chain leaders and even firearms producers exhibiting at this year’s show is a strong indication of how important India is to the US.

CHENNAI: Nearly 20 American companies will be vying to garner attention at the DefExpo 2018 where  United States Ambassador Kenneth I Juster along with Deputy Commanding General of US Army Pacific Major General Bryan Suntheimer will be participating.The US Ambassador and the Deputy Commanding General of US Army Pacific will be in the large and diverse US delegation which includes active duty military officers, government officials, and industry executives - demonstrating the depth and breadth of the commitment of the United States to the US-India Major Defense Partner relationship. 

The collective presence of major American manufacturers, technology innovators, supply-chain leaders and even firearms producers exhibiting at this year’s show is a strong indication of how important India is to the United States, and that buyers and influencers throughout the region are looking to the US for innovative solutions and partners to help ensure their economic and homeland security, according to a release from the US consulate-general.

 “This is a dynamic period in our bilateral relationship as the United States and India develop the Major Defense Partner relationship and increase cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region,” said Patrick Santillo, US Department of Commerce Minister-Counselor for Commercial Affairs. Of the nearly 20 US companies exhibiting at the show, a majority are located in the US Partnership Pavilion, organised by Kallman Worldwide in coordination with numerous government agencies, including the US Departments of Commerce, Defense and State.Kallman has represented the DefExpo in the United States since 2012, and this is its first “US Partnership Pavilion” banner, which President and CEO Tom Kallman says reflects a global trend.
