Arvind Kejriwal vs Centre HIGHLIGHTS: Delhi CM hails SC majority verdict, says big victory for democracy

The Kejriwal government had last year moved the apex court, accusing the Centre of encroaching upon the authority of the elected government through the L-G Anil Baijal.

The Supreme Court has delivered its final verdict in the favour of Arvind Kejriwal, finally putting an end to the ongoing power tussle in the national capital between the Aam Aadmi Party government and the Centre, represented by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal. 

The Kejriwal government had last year moved the apex court, accusing the Centre of encroaching upon the authority of the elected government through the L-G.

11:40 AM: Former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit told ANI: "I think what SC has said is very clear. As per Article 239 (AA) of the Constitution, Delhi is not a state,it is a UT. If Delhi Government & LG don't work together then Delhi will face problems. Congress ruled Delhi for 15 years, no conflict took place then."

11:30 AM: Reacting to the verdict, Soli Sorabjee,former Attorney General of India told ANI, "It's a good verdict by Supreme Court. LG and Delhi Govt have to work harmoniously,'can't always have confrontation. Daily squabbles are not good for democracy. I welcome the decision."
