NEW DELHI: Mahajan Imaging and Labs inaugurated its first integrated diagnostics centre in Uttar Pradesh at Noida on Saturday, with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh as the chief guest. The facility brings forth advanced imaging, pathology, genomics and molecular diagnostics under one roof. Addressing the occasion, Singh called for India’s healthcare system to shift from treatment to prevention, with greater focus on screening and early diagnosis.
“India’s healthcare model must increasingly move from treatment to prevention. Preventive healthcare is the future, and timely screening and early diagnosis will play a critical role in reducing the growing burden of non-communicable diseases,” the minister said.
The newly launched facility in Sector 75, Noida, is expected to cater to patients from Noida, western UP and the wider Delhi-NCR region. It houses Uttar Pradesh’s first ultra-fast AI-powered 3T MRI scanner, along with a 160-slice CT scanner. Other diagnostic services at the centre include 3D-4D ultrasound, colour Doppler, shear-wave elastography, full-field digital mammography, DEXA bone densitometry, CBCT/OPG and digital X-ray. Neurophysiology services, including EEG and EMG, are also available.
The pathology division covers haematology, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, serology, immunology, histopathology and cytology. The centre also offers next-generation sequencing, molecular diagnostics, genomics and personalised health assessments.
Singh said treating illnesses at advanced stages not only increases the burden on patients and families but also puts additional pressure on the healthcare system and the economy. Referring to the expansion of Ayushman Bharat, he said more than five crore people had been connected through the programme, while over 80 lakh beneficiaries in Uttar Pradesh had received healthcare support. He said India had an opportunity to lead the next phase of healthcare innovation by combining artificial intelligence, advanced imaging, molecular diagnostics and digital health with medical expertise.
Padma Shri Dr Harsh Mahajan, founder and chairman of Mahajan Imaging & Labs, said the integrated facility was aimed at bringing different areas of diagnostic expertise together to provide doctors and patients with a clearer and more comprehensive picture of disease.
