HYDERABAD: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Sunday termed former Chief Minister Nadendla Bhaskara Rao’s autobiography as a `bundle of lies’ and fiction.
Nadendla’s autobiography `Walking With Destiny’ was released Saturday.
Speaking to reporters here, TDP leader K Sivaprasada Rao alleged that autobiographies should reflect facts.
But, Nadendla’s autobiography was a bundle of lies, he claimed. Nadendla was unable to reveal the facts and his role in the 1983 August coup, in which NT Ramarao was dethroned, was not mentioned in the life history, alleged Sivaprasada Rao.
Objecting to Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s participation in the book release function, the TDP leader alleged that both Nadendla and Rajasekhara Reddy were patting each other’s back for selfish political needs.
Sivaprasada Rao objected to the timing of the release of Nadendla’s autobiography.
Nadendla had released his life history expecting a bright political career for his son in the Congress party and the former himself was eying a gubernatorial post, alleged Sivaprasada Rao.
The TDP leader said Nadendla’s `murky role’ in dethroning the popular Government of NTR was known to every citizen in the State. Nadendla acted based on the script prepared by the AICC and the then PCC chief Rajasekhara Reddy too played his role in this, he alleged.
The TDP leader also blamed Nadendla for making personal criticism against NTR in his book. Accusing NTR was bad, he said.
Sivaprasada Rao recalled that though Nadendla distorted facts about his role in the TDP Government, the people of the State taught a befitting lesson to him. Sivaprasada Rao also said it was wrong on the part of Nadendla to point fingers at N Chandrababu Naidu’s role in the TDP. He pointed out that Nadendla was rejected by the Congress and later joined the TDP.
TDP leader K Rammohana Rao recalled that only 60 MLAs had supported Nadendla.
When Nadendla visited Anantapur district as Chief Minister for 30 days, the women in the district welcomed him with brooms, he recalled and said it showed the disrespect Nadendla earned after he back-stabbed NTR.
However, in a news channel, Nadendla blasted NT Ramarao for Mallela Babji and other episodes. He said he had desisted from speaking the truth thinking that the sentiments of NTR’s fans would get hurt. He said Chandrababu Naidu had met him, asking him to join the TDP.
