HYDERABAD: The US-based software quality engineer Arpana B Jinaga was laid to rest here on Sunday. Arpana was killed in her apartment at Seattle a few days ago.
After completing the formalities there, the body was flown to the city late last night by a Lufthansa flight.
The body arrived at the Shamshabad international airport a little before 1 am. It was then shifted to the OU Community Centre in Shaikpet.
Arpana’s father, BC Jinaga, resides at OU Colony in Shaikpet.
The body was kept in the community centre till 10 am for friends and relatives to have a last glimpse of her. Friends, relatives and family members turned up in good numbers to pay their last respects.
Khairatabad legislator P Vishnuvardhan Reddy was among the visitors.
The body was later taken to a graveyard near Whisper Valley for the last rites.
Family members said investigation into the killing was in progress and Arpana’s apartment was sealed by the US police.
