HYDERABAD: Three persons were nabbed for illegal transportation of contraband Naphtha-related petroleum products, commonly known as white petrol, to the city. The accused tried to sell the white petrol to black marketers in the city when they were caught. A lorry tanker containing 20,000 kilo litre of contraband Naphtha-related petroleum products worth Rs 6.5 lakh was seized from them.

Police said the accused, S Ramu and P Satyanarayana alias Sathi Babu (both from Akayyapalem in Visakhapatnam) and A Srinivas Reddy alias Srinu of East Godavari district, were all friends.

Ramu and Satyanaryana are tanker lorry drivers and used to illegally transport Naphthalene-related petroleum products to black market dealers in Madras, Bangalore and other cities.

Srinivas Reddy joined them and offered to sell the contraband product in the city. Satyanarayana went to Sambalpur in Orissa and procured 20,000 kilo litre of white petrol from Keep Safe Traders Private Limited owned by a person, Sunil.

He raised a Tax Invoice from Keep Safe Traders in the name of Sainath Enterprises, Agasteeswaram, Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu and also a ‘Way bill’ from Sambalpur in Orissa and ACTO, Purshothampuram Check post, Srikakulam district. “Ramu created a fake tax invoice in the name of a non-existent firm, Vizag Bio Fuels Agencies Changalaraopet, Visakhapatnam, in the name of Ramakrishna Transport, Uppal, to cover the illegal business.
