Vice-Chancellor of the University of Hyderabad, Professor Seyed E Hasnain has been honoured with the prestigious Robert Koch Fellowship. Professor Hasnain shares this honour for this year with Professor Harald zur Hausen (Nobel Laureate

2008) and Professor Reinhard Kurth (Former Director, Robert Koch Institute, Berlin).

Hasnain received this fellowship for the contributions he made in the field of infectious diseases. The honours were jointly conferred upon them at

a formal function organised by the Robert-Koch Institute (RKI) in Berlin, Germany. Incidentally, he is the first Indian to get this coveted recognition.
