

HYDERABAD: Pastry Chef Amaresan of Novotel Hyderabad has created a traditional Japanese dish called Sushi into an innovative ‘Ice cream Sushi’.
This is a signature creation of Chef Amaresan and is being featured at The Square every Saturday and Sunday.
Ice cream Sushi comes in a selection of wraps with White chocolate and Dark chocolate, various fillings like Vanilla ice cream, fruit compots like water melon, papaya, pineapple and melon and toped with various toppings like frosted cashew nuts, almonds, pistachio nuts, raspberry, mango and guava sago sauce to give it a caviar look. It is a delicacy which creates a special place for itself in the wide spread of dessert spread at Novotel Hyderabad.
According to Chef Amaresan, “The idea behind introducing Ice cream sushi is to create a dessert version of the one of the most popular dish from Japan- Sushi. Different flavours of ice-cream wrapped in a chocolate based wrapping are a sheer delight and gives it a very presentable look of serving an icecream based dessert”.
Sushi is the most famous Japanese dish outside of Japan, and one of the most popular dishes among the Japanese themselves. In Japan, sushi is usually enjoyed on special occasions, such as a celebration. The traditional form of sushi is sticky rice with stuffing of sea food, rolled is sea weed. .
Ice-cream sushi, very similarly is ice-cream rolled in chocolate with fruits stuffing.
