Actor Akkineni Nageswara Rao announced the ANR International Film Award will be given to veteran director K Balchandar.
The award will be given by ANR Trust on January 11 to Balchandar.
Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy will present the award to the veteran director at Shilpakalavedika.
Balchandar is one of the highly acclaimed directors in Indian cinema with films like Marocharitra to his credit.
He is credited with introducing several actors like Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Jayaprada, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha to the film industry.
