HYDERABAD: Triggered by the consumer feedback, Meru Cabs, a radio cab services provider, on Monday, tied up with Axis Bank, to facilitate an alternate electronic card -- both debit and credit -- payment facility for passengers. Meru also said it would introduce various promotion programmes that will prompt users to avail the card payment facility.
“Plastic money is convenient and a viable payment option these days and consumers prefer plastic money to hard cash.
By providing this facility, we are confident of providing a hassle-free option for passengers,” said Rajesh Puri, CEO, Meru Cabs. He added that it’s a secure application as its completely automated.
“Cities like New York, Boston and Tokyo have the facility of paying by cash or card in the radio cabs. In fact, it is a mandate in these cities for the radio cabs to have a card payment option for the passengers. Our goal is to replicate these revolutionary services in India and offer our passengers a truly comfortable & world-class travel experience,” Puri explained.
Currently, Meru has 4,800 cabs under its fold and is ramping up operations across four cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Hyderabad.
