HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Rosaiah has assured the denizens of Hyderabad that the State Government would provide a helping hand to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in creating required civic infrastructure in the city.

Inaugurating the central modern lighting from the BHEL Crossroads to the Nakkavagu Bridge over a 11- km stretch at Patancheru here on Sunday, the Chief Minister said as the city is growing rapidly, there is a need to create civic infrastructure to meet present and future needs.

He lauded the GHM C for completing the installation of the modern streetlights in a record time.

Rosaiah laid the foundation stone for the works taken up at a cost of Rs 2 cr on October 28 last year.

Ministers J Geetha Reddy, Sunitha Laxma Reddy, DK Aruna and Nandi Yellaiah, MP, were among those present on the occasion.

Out of the total 3,11,139 lights in the GHMC limits, conventional lights are 2,48,451, modern lights 38,451, semi mast 21,321 and high mast 3,270.
