Swaddling a child in her arms, listening intently to an old man on a stone bench or beaming her beautiful smile with hands folded in greeting, her head slightly inclined, Mother Teresa dominates every inch of a small gallery room in the city. From her early days in Skopje to the present day in Macedonia, where she was born to parents of Albanian ancestry, to her experiences in the Missionaries of Charity, various aspects of the Mother’s life captured in photographs are part of the 11-day exhibition, that opened in the city on Monday.

A rare photo exhibition of Mother Teresa, Something Beautiful for God, curated by Sunil K Dutt, an eminent photographer followed by a special documentary film From Saint to Sainthood on Mother Teresa’s journey towards sainthood by Payal Mohanka, a renowned journalist, was presented on Monday by Oxford Bookstore.

Something Beautiful for God is an exclusive collection of photograph capturing the memorable moments of Mother’s Beatification in Rome in 2003 and From Saint to Sainthood is a documentary film by Payal Mohanka which pays tribute to Mother Teresa’s journey towards sainthood. The film chronicles a journey through Mother’s homes for orphans, destitute and lepers. It is a medium through which those associated with Mother share their memories of her resolve to dedicate her life to the service of humanity. The documentary is a fitting tribute to a saint.
