HYDERABAD: Renate Cerljen (Miss Sweden), Fanney Ingvarsdottir (Miss Iceland), Gantogoo Nicole (Miss Mongolia) and Bridget Nickerson (Miss Canada) — these beauty queens clearly seem to believe that beauty is skin deep.
Their actions speak that they not only believe in making profound statements during their show, but also want to implement them.
The aforementioned beauty queens, who landed in the city two days ago, have joined hands with Healthy Kids Happy Kids foundation to walk the ramp to promote a noble cause.
"We are extremely excited because coming to India, for us, is like once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," exclaims Bridget Nickerson, on behalf of the other three pretty ladies, continuing, "We are here to help the kids, create awareness about the earth and just to make a difference."
Having landed three days before their show, the international title holders believe in making the best use of their time in hand.
They have already visited orphanage in and around the city to spread some warmth amongst the kids along with some stuffed teddy bears!
"The experience of spending time with those kids was simply heart warming," explains Renate Cerljen, as Bridget continues, "We collected teddy bears from kids back home and got them for the kids in India to simply bring a smile to their face. It is a perfect personalised gift that they can cuddle up with every night."
People with a title have the power to reach out to a wider spectrum of people, confesses Bridget, adding, "Its sad, but true that people listen better when someone with a title speaks."
After walking the ramp in the city, they plan to head to Nagpur for the same. "The theme of this fashion show is evolution, and we are very excited about wearing a saree," adds Renate.
The evening of fashion extravaganza will involve creating awareness about importance of kids’ health and kids happiness and also a session of distributing wheel chairs and walkers to children’s from poor families who are physically challenged.
