HYDERABAD: The condition of Mohammed Ayazuddin, presently undergoing treatment at the Apollo Hospital, has deteriorated further after doctors said the brain function tests conducted on the son of former cricketer Md Azharuddin indicated brain dysfunction.

Ayaz's condition still remains critical, the doctors said. Hospital sources told Express, "When Ayaz was brought to the hospital, there was no blood supply to the brain and doctors were worried that the brain cells would die. This happened due to the delay in bringing the patient to the hospital," sources said.

However, his blood pressure is being maintained through medical support. Sources said doctors administered seven imported injections to maintain his blood pressure. The cost of each injection is over Rs. 1 lakh.

Sources further said Azharuddin has not moved out of the hospital even for a while and continues to monitor his son's condition personally. "Once Azharuddin said he saw some some movement of Ayaz's legs but it was not to be. The former cricketer is tense, irritable and emotional," sources added.
