Jewellery shop employee robbed of 2 kg Gold

Victim was kidnapped from Jubilee Bus Station

A 55-year-old employee of a jewellery shop who was carrying two kg of gold ornaments worth Rs 62 lakh was kidnapped by a gang of three persons from the Jubilee Bus Station (JBS) in Secunderabad on Monday night. They whisked him away in a car, took away the jewellery and let him off at Yousufguda.

The victim, Rajeswar, is working at a jewellery shop at Nirmal in Adilabad. He bought the ornaments in Secunderabad and was going to board a bus to Nirmal when the incident took place.

The police registered a case. against the unknown accused under section 390 (robbery) and took up investigation.

Police said, Rajeswar purchased the gold jewellery from Chand Anjaiah jewellery shop located in Mahankali. Later, he took an auto and reached the JBS around 10.15 pm. He was walking into the JBS when three unidentified persons pounced on him and forced him into a car.

"Inside the car, the assailants snatched his bag containing the gold ornaments and later abandoned him in the Yousufguda locality and fled away," said Maredpally inspector K Shashank Reddy.

After receiving information about the kidnap, police rushed to the JBS and enquired with the passengers and the RTC staff there about the incident. Based on the information provided by them, they searched for the victim and traced him at Yousufguda, Reddy said.
