The mystery over the murder of event hostess has been unravelled. The 18-year-old Sania from Masab Tank in the city ended up as a charred body at Gandipet because her college-mate could not digest the fact that her lover was smitten by Sania.
According to the police, Sania’s college-mate, Husna Khan, took the help of two male friends to snuff the life out of Sania. Sania was an employee of Mosaic Events and Promotions and Husna Khan its director. Husna Khan’s boyfriend Sarfosh alias Zeeshan was also a director of the company.
On the night of April 10, around 1 am, Sania’s body was found near VIF College on the Gandipet road. The body was identified later as that of Sania who lived along with her sister and mother.
The police arrested Husna Khan and her two accomplices, Mallik and Rahan, residents of Ziaguda in Kulsumpura police limits.
According to deputy commissioner of police (Shamshabad) K Ramesh Naidu, Sania, an Intermediate drop-out, had been working at Mosaic Events and Promotions for two years. The company is run by one Sarfosh, a resident of Bandlaguda. Husna Khan, a resident of Mehdipatnam, is a director.
Sania developed an affair with Zeeshan, an intimate friend of Husna Khan. A jealous Husna had decided to eliminate Sania about ten days ago and sought help from Mallik and Rahan.
On April 10, at about 7 pm, Husna Khan, Mallik and Rahan went to Saina’s residence in a vehicle (AP-10-W 5943) belonging to Rahan’s father. They picked up Sania telling her that they were going to attend an event. They filled the vehicle with fuel at a petrol pump at Mehdipatnam and also bought petrol separately in a bottle. From there they went to Mandara Hotel and had dinner together. From there they went to the outskirts of Tolkatta village in Moinabad mandal. They selected a desolate place where they strangled Sania to death. They brought the body to Gandipet and tried to burn it with petrol. On seeing a police patrol car they fled the scene leaving the semi-burnt body behind. The police doused the flames.’’ While Mallik and Rahan held Sania’s legs and head, Husna Khan smothered her with a piece of cloth, the DCP said.
