Modern take

Richa Bansal, the brand’s CEO, feels that with increasingly, working professionals no longer have time to visit their trusty family jewellers. “Figuring out the right prices, quality and certification is a problem. Plus, there is always that over enthusiastic salesperson putting pressure on you,” Bansal tells us. But with 21diamonds, you are pretty much your own boss and can make a choice without having to worry about standards, certification and the genuineness of your purchase. “All our jewellery is IGI (International Gemological Institute) or GIA (Gemological Institute of America) certified. There are 10,000 designs to choose from under categories like Indian, European, Cocktail and more. Including jewellery customised according to your age,” she explains. From solitaires to cocktail rings and delicate pendants to creole (hinged) earrings, you will be spoilt for choice choosing from metals like white, yellow and rose gold and precious stones like amethyst, topaz, sapphire, emerald and ruby.

Advantage, buyer

Just like other online shopping sites, there are features like cash-on-delivery, 30-days-no-questions- asked return policy, 24/7 customer care and additional highlights like lifetime exchange policy and buy-back offers. “ Online buying makes everything that much more convenient and the selection much more easy,” says Bansal, adding, “recently, a client spotted a solitaire ring on a television advertisement and wanted to gift something similar to his wife on their 10th anniversary. His search ended at 21diamonds where he found the perfect piece - very similar but at a lower price tag.” Bansal, who is an alumnus of The Wharton School and formerly a consultant, has teamed up with five partners from Germany and Brazil to start this venture. `800 upwards for silver jewellery and upto `10 lakh for gold and diamond pieces.
