Looking for a place to unwind and chill with your girlfriends? Then head over to Ohri’s Ruci & Idoni on Wednesdays. With an idea to celebrate womanhood and provide Hyderabadi women a place to enjoy a scrumptious meal, the restaurant recently launched a first-of-its-kind W-Lunch in the city. Explains K S Raj Shekar, Chef at the restaurant, “We started the concept of women’s lunch every Wednesday with an idea to make them feel special and provide them with a place where they can come with their friends without any inhibitions and relax.”
The W-Lunch is an exclusive offering to women, which features a five-course, pre-set menu. This includes a drink, soups, live salad bar, appetizers, main course and desserts. “The menu keeps changing every Wednesday and includes a variety of cuisine – right from Italian and Spanish, to Mexican and Lebanese,” he adds.
One of the pre-set menus at the W-Lunch offered Litchi Splash and Passion Ice tea as the welcome drinks to choose from. While Ice tea can be chosen by conservative mocktail drinkers, Litchi Splash was something different and a makes for a refreshing drink. Moving on to the soups, the menu offered Mexican Tortilla Soup and Mexican spiced tomato base soup with corn and jalapeño, tortilla chips/ with chicken. The soup was tangy and delicious.
Next in line were the appetizers which included Oats-crusted fried fish and Vegetable and cheese croquettes.
But don’t fill youself up with these because the main course has five options to choose one from – two vegetarian and three non-vegetarian dishes. On this particular Wednesday, it included a Chicken fricassee (Creamy chicken stew served with toasted pesto focaccia), Fish with Lemon Salsa (Jerk spiced grilled fish, assorted vegs, roasted potatoes served with lemon salsa), Cannelloni Primavera (Cannelloni rolled with spinach in primavera sauce with assorted vegetables), Egg Plant Parmagiana (Eggplant crumbed with parmesan, fried and served with spaghetti aglio e olio & veggies) and Rigatoni Bolognaise (Large tube Rigatoni pasta tossed orange scented robust Bolognaise sauce). The Cannelloni Primavera stole the show with its perfect creamy sauce. And just when one would think that their lunch is done, there is dessert to choose from. On offer were Orange scented duet of chocolate and White and dark chocolate mousse dusted with grated orange zest.
And, that’s not all. To make the W-Lunch a tad more interesting, the restaurant has a tarot card reader and a palmist (on alternative Wednesdays) to keep the conversation going. So, whether it is a birthday celebration or a kitty party, a workshop or a simple get together, head over to Ohri’s Ruci & Idoni on Wednesdays. The W-Lunch is available from 1 to 3:30 pm, priced at Rs 399, all inclusive.
