New and classic tourist destinations around the world have earned themselves a place on top10 lists of travel bibles like Lonely Planet and Conde Nast Traveller. Plus, much-anticipated developments like the Museum of Old and New Art in Hobart, Australia and the new ferry serice in cost-friendly Thailand warrant a must-visit. Our pick:

Australia

Travellers with Australia on their itinerary make a beeline for the usual suspects like Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide and the Gold Coast. In contrast, Hobart is the only Australian city listed in Lonely Planet’s Best in Travel guide for 2013. With the arrival of the MONA (Museum of Old and New Art), the Taste of Tasmania food festival, the Walls of Jerusalem walk and the Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race, the city will see an increased influx of tourists.

Turkey

New Zealand

Antarctica
