How to wear ruffles right

Ruffles, which were a big hit last season, are still reigning over the market and streetwear. However, to spice up the otherwise boring and quite honestly predictable trend, we decided to experiment with colours and silhouettes.

To start with, the wardrobe essential that every woman has in her closet is the plain white button-up blouse. There's so much one can do with the blouse, keeping intact the sobriety and yet adding to the chic factor of the outfit. The blouse that can be paired with pencil skirts, trousers or a blazer, can be accentuated with ruffles. Subtle, and chic without being too loud, ruffles are the perfect way to accessorize one's office wardrobe. In fact, if you are willing to experiment, add ruffles to a pencil skirt or the blazer to pep up the outfit.

Besides office wear, ruffles which are best worn in summers get a makeover of sorts when paired with jumpsuits. Chic full length jumpsuits, or even strapless ones adorned by ruffles are best for summers. And this is not even including the colours, and prints that one can experiment with. The current trend, which is floral and animal motifs or aztec prints, can also be incorporated into the outfit. And being able to flaunt numerous trends in one outfit is the true mark of a fashionista.

For ages, ruffled skirts have been known as the symbol of feminity. Neutral colours over ruffled skirts, which include peplum of course, is the usual pairing. However, colour blocking, printed blouses and monochrome are all trends that can be effortlessly manifested through this piece of clothing. The material of the skirt also determines the look of the outfit. Lace, net, cotton or satin can be used.
