The Osmania University declared the results of all the three year exams of its undergraduate courses of BA, BCom and BSc here on Friday. In the final year exam results in all the three courses, the girls outshone the boys.
A total of 1.79 lakh candidates had taken the examinations for three years in the three courses. About 65,000 of them appeared for the final year examinations, out of whom 31,683 passed out registering a 48.58 pass percentage.
Speaking to newsmen after releasing the results, OU vice-chancellor Prof S Satyanarayana said that the varsity had improved the pass percentage in the final year compared to previous years in all the three courses. The final year BA examination was taken by 8,402 candidates, out of whom 4, 264 passed out registering a pass percentage of 50.75. This was much higher than the last year’s pass percentage of 44. In BCom, 31,432 candidates appeared for the examination and 15,762 of them passed out recording a 50.15 pass percentage as against the previous year’s 48.92 pass percentage. In the BSc final year, 25,382 candidates took the examination and 11,657 of them passed out posting a pass percentage of 45.93 which was great improvement over last year’s pass percentage of 34.84. In all the three courses, the girls outperformed the boys with a huge margin. In BA, the girls recorded 58.48 pass percentage whereas the boys registered a pass percentage of only 44.70. In BCom, the respective pass percentage figures for girls and boys were 63.5 and 40. In BSc, they were 53.96 and 36.74.
The VC said that candidates could check the results at the varsity website at www.osmania.ac.in and a few other websites announced by the varsity earlier.
The candidates could collect the memorandum of marks from their respective colleges after June 17. They could also apply for revaluation at the examination branch on payment of Rs 200 per each paper.
PHOTO-COPIES: Prof Satyanarayana said that for the first time the university would be issuing the photo-copies of the answer sheets to the candidates on payment of Rs 1,000 per each paper from this year. The request for photocopy answer script should be submitted by the concerned candidates in the prescribed proforma available at the OU website and duly attested by the principal of the college along with demand draft, a copy of hall-ticket and a copy of downloaded marks memo. The application for revaluation and photostat copies would be accepted at the examination branch from June 12 to 27.
