The government has accorded administrative sanction for Rs 100 crore for improving infrastructure in schools in Mahbubnagar district, information and public relations minister DK Aruna has said.
Addressing mediapersons at Mahbubnagar on Monday, the minister said under SC Sub-Plan for 2013-14, funds have been released for renovation of social welfare hostels, construction of new school and college buildings and community halls.
She said five integrated welfare hostels for boys with `3 crore each have been sanctioned to the district, while `2.57 crore has been sanctioned for repairs and renovation of 56 welfare hostels and `5.36 crore for 1,344 additional toilets in 88 hostels. Twenty four SC community halls, each costing `7.5 lakh have been sanctioned. The government has also sanctioned two boys and two girls college hostels to the district each costing `2.2 crore. Further, AP social welfare hostel in Narayanpet has been upgraded as junior college.
Administrative sanction was also accorded for a new residential school in Alampur at a cost of `1.04 crore. For improvong the facilities in AP Social Welfare Residential schools, a sum of `37.97 crore has been sanctioned, the minister said.
Similarly, under Tribal Sub Plan for 2013-14, `80 lakh each have been sanctioned for six tribal residential upper primary school buildings and Rs 5 crore for post- matric hostels in Mahbubnagar, Wanaparthy, Achampet and Kalwakurthy. Teachers quarters with Rs 30 lakh each has been sanctioned for Achampet, Maisigandi, Vatavarlapalle and Kalwakurthy residential schools. In Mannanur, Amangal, Lingala, Kodangal and Kadthal, tribal welfare hostels will be upgraded to residential schools at a cost of `1 crore each.
