In the wake of reports that there could be a possible Tollywood connection with spot-fixing scandal in the ongoing IPL tournament, Telugu Film Producers Council president Tammareddy Bharadwaja has ruled out any such possibility.
Rubbishing the reports that a Telugu film producer has links with Sreesanth, the prime accused in the scandal, Bharadwaja said there was no truth in the reports.
There are no casting directors in the Telugu film industry, as claimed in the reports, he said.
In some sections of the media, it was reported that Mumbai police who are investigating the scandal had questioned a casting director and through him got details of a film producer and his possible involvement with Sreesanth. The producer would be questioned in couple of days, the report said.
In Delhi, police, who were examining the laptop and other electronic gadgets seized from the hotel room in which Sreesanth had stayed, have found that he was very much interested in films and wanted to produce a film.
He has been maintaining good relations with film personalities of Bollywood and Mollywood. However, no Tollywood personality was mentioned in this connection.
Meanwhile, the Telugu Film Produces Council said if any producer was found guilty of having a role in IPL spot-fixing, stringent action would be initiated against them.
