The students Jain Heritage a Cambridge School (JHCS), Hyderabad are attempting to create a Guinness Record in Geometry.

Students of the Kondapur branch of JHCS are working to achieve this feat by relying on Fractal Theory. A fractal is a self-similar pattern, which appears to be the same when you see it from different distances.

Around 150 students from grade III to grade X are working on the ‘Biggest Fractal Triangle’.

The process of making a tower of triangles is fun and engaging and also encourages students to learn the concepts of scaling, proportions amongst others, which is also what the school is aiming at.

The School of Mathematics is helping JHCS students in their attempt by acting as the knowledge partner.

The previous known record for the ‘Largest Fractal Triangle’ was built using 1,77,147 individual small triangles. The number of triangles being used by the JHCS students is not know yet. JHCS’s ‘Shikara’ will be on display today at the State Art Gallery of Fine Arts in Madhapur.
