Former minister and Penamaluru MLA Kolusu Parthasarthy is learnt to have been be making a last ditch effort to join YSRCP and contest either from Penamaluru Assembly constituency or Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat in the ensuing elections.

Rumopurs are doing rounds that he had met YSRCP president Jaganmohan Reddy Sunday in Hyderabad and expressed his readiness to join the party.

According to sources, Parthasarathy had made all out efforts to join the party after the UPA government divided the state. He also knocked at the doors of Telugu Desam to get MP or MLA ticket, but failed to make any headway. Like many of his colleagues in the Congress in Seemandhra, he too decided to bid adieu to the Congress in search of greener pastures.

As he saw TDP and YSRC emerging strong, he shuttled between the TDP and YSRC offices  to seek ticket for the  Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seat.

When he got no assurance from both the parties on MP ticket, he changed his mind and made an attempt to become the nominee of the TDP from Machilipatnam Assembly constituency. But there was no positive sign from the TDP as the party is of the opinion that he does not enjoy public support.
