HYDERABAD: With one hundred and forty artists from the newly-formed Telangana displaying their work, the art show titled Kotha Panduga was inaugurated at the State Art Gallery. 

Organised by the Telangana Artists Forum, it is headed by Ramana Reddy, one of the participating artists in the show,  and also the curator of the exhibition. 

Talking about how important it is for events like this, he said, “The show exemplifies the celebration of the age old traditions of Telangana and it also reinstates the importance of fine arts as an indispensable aspect of the region.”

He pointed out that it is now time for the arts and culture of the state of Telangana start recieving their due attention.  

“After long political instability of the state, both the bi-furcated states now have ambitious plans for the future. The artists have a greater role to play and inspire the society with their art works.”

He further informed about the role of Telangana Artists Forum and that it has plans for the near future. 

“Telangana artists forum is actively engaged in several social welfare activities. We have been closely involved in discussing and portraying social issues through our art forms for the last four years,” he said.

The present show amalgamates works of artists belonging to various age groups where a viewer gets to experience works of senior artists like Gourishanker, Bairu Raghuram , Kavita Deuskar as well as the works of younger ones included in the show.

The wide and impressive array of paintings in the show exemplifies varied techniques, concepts and genres of painting and also the assimilation of works is such that the viewer gets introduced to works with iridescent hues, myriad forms in diverse concepts and themes.

Telangana artists forum also looks forward to a lot of art related activities in future. For now,  the group is planning a show with all senior artists from Telangana at a gallery in Hyderabad very soon. The present show will go on at State Art Gallery from july 7 to 13.
