HYDERABAD: The three-day CBSE Regional Level Science Exhibition-2014, hosted by the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan’s Public School, Jubilee Hills, concluded on Saturday with the selection of 20 best projects.
Around 300 students from 60 schools in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana participated in the exhibition. The selected projects will be presented at the National Level CBSE Science Exhibition-2014.
The students, from the eighth to the twelfth standard, exhibited their work based on the themes of Health, Agriculture, Environment, Energy and Resources. Innovative ways of using natural resources for farming and producing energy, use of science and technology for betterment of resources were favourite topics among the students.
Use of waste to produce bio-gas, ways to purify water and air and using solar energy to power various equipments are some of the projects displayed.
Students who participated in the science exhibition said that showcasing their work gave them a chance to take feedback on their projects and to exchange ideas. “We learned new things and interacted with like-minded people,” said Ananya Pathak, a student from Defence Laboratories School, RCI, Hyderabad.
And for some, it is an opportunity to exhibit their innovations. “We are in the final year of schooling and wanted to exhibit our innovations. So we participated in the exhibition,” said G Sheshnag and S Adityan from Army Public School, RK Puram. C Rama Devi, principal of Bhavan’s said, it was a way of knowing innovating ability of students.
