Would you believe it if someone says they can heal you from ailments ranging from headaches to coma, using just energy, without even physically administering you? Well pranic healers across the world say this has existed for centuries.
Pranic healing is believed to be an ancient science which utilises prana or energy or life-energy to treat ailments. This energy is said to be available in the sun, air and ground. What a healer does is give more energy to the patient which helps the ailing body to heal faster.
“It is a no-touch healing energy system based on the principle that every body is a self-repairing entity,” says Vamsi Mohan, a teacher and practitioner of Pranic healing and Pranic agriculture.
Explaining how it works, Vamsi says, “When there is a small cut in your body, it takes a while for the blood to stop oozing and then it takes around one week to heal. Although the body is self-repairing, the need for a healer arises as when a body is ailing, it needs more energy to be diverted to it.”
On how energy can be transferred from one person to another, Vamsi says that a healer doesn’t need to work on the physical body. “They work on energy body, or the aura, that surrounds one’s physical self. This is almost like the blueprint of the physical body,” he says.
The reason that the healing method works on the aura instead of the physical form is that ailments first appear as energy disruptions around the body before actually impacting it, he adds.
This system of healing faces severe criticism from mainstream medical practitioners who brush it off as a placebo effect.
However, Vamsi recalls an incident in which pranic healing helped a woman recover from coma. “The woman was a lecturer in Narayana Junior College and had met with an accident. As doctors asked the family to take her home, they decided to try pranic healing. Within minutes she opened her eyes. Recently she gave birth to a healthy baby. It can’t be a placebo effect, can it?” he counters.
Pranic healing is a widely accepted method across the world. There are many institutes teaching this ancient, alternative method of treatment. In the city as well, there is the MCKS Pranic Healing Centre and Research Institute, named after Master Choa Kok Sui, a modern master of energy.
If you want to try it to believe it, you can join the course being organised by Vamsi at Our Sacred Space starting March 22. A two-day course, it aims at acquainting one with the basics. The course fees is chargeable at `2,000.
There are no prerequisites to learn the healing method. “One needs to only be able to read and write, so that he/she might be able to read the manuals,” says Vamsi.
Apart from techniques to heal, the workshop also includes meditation on twin hearts, basic Pranayama, law or karma and character building.
